Digital Chocolate is one of the first companies to sign a direct distribution agreement with Cingular Wireless and offer its original content on the Cingular MEdia platform. Cingular MEdia is the Cingular Wireless® umbrella name for its extensive suite of data products and services including games, personal applications, as well as alerts, messaging browsing and other downloadable applications.

‘Cingular Wireless has demonstrated its dedication to providing its customer with the ultimate mobile experience with innovative services that extend beyond voice communication and its understanding of the impact mobile entertainment and educational applications can have on consumers’ lifestyles,’ said Trip Hawkins, Digital Chocolate’s CEO and founder, who has a notable history in computer and gaming software, having founded and built the seminal games company Electronic Arts. ‘Cingular MEdia is an ideal platform for Digital Chocolate and we look forward to an avid reception from Cingular’s customers when the applications are available for download.’

‘Offering applications like NCAA Hoops 2005 enriches the user experience on the Cingular MEdia platform,’ said Lou Fasulo, senior manager at Cingular Wireless. ‘It is this kind of unique game developed specifically for the mobile medium, extremely simple to use (often only one button is needed to play a game), and a networked community that encourages more and more of our customers to experiment with, and enjoy, the wide variety of content available on the Cingular MEdia Platform.’
