Controversial Heroes: #3 – Oath of Vengeance

Posted by admin on August 3 2010 Add Comments

During its duration, Oath of Vengeance replaces soldiers you lose with new ones. This makes it a very useful Hero especially for attack, since it keeps your momentum going even against withering defensive fire. In defense, Oath of Vengeance keeps your defensive line… stable for longer against concentrated attacks, so use it to stop the enemies and subject them to your other countermeasures. Using Oath of Vengeance means you will almost always lose the Kill Ratio bonus, since the constant flow of “volunteers” will ensure you will suffer more casualties than the enemy.

Controversial Heroes: #2 – Change of the Guard

Posted by admin on August 3 2010 Add Comments

Change of the Guard renders the towers of the defender castle both inactive and invulnerable to damage. This means that while the Change is on, NOTHING will go through those towers unless it’s dispelled. While all this makes Change of the Guard an ideal defensive …Hero, it’s good to remember that even though the towers can’t be hurt, the walls between the towers are still as prone to damage as before. Also, disabling your own turrets and re-spawners can start building an (angry) traffic jam next to the castle. Use Change of Guard on attack to provide protection to your castle raiders or in defense to make sure it’ll take more than a few “lucky” troops to clear your castle.

Controversial Heroes: #1 – Truce

Posted by admin on August 3 2010 Add Comments

Truce stops both armies from moving or attacking until it expires (or is dispelled). Since Truce is a “one-shot” Hero, it is removed from game after use. Use Truce offensively in combination with attack Heroes by setting up the enemy line as a static target and then pounding hi…m with hard-hitting guns like Heavy Cavalry or the Brass Mama or keep it as a lifeline against rusher defenses using Charge or Blink. In defense, use to Truce to drive your enemy crazy: Yeah, he got pretty close to your castle, but now he’ll have to take some time to appreciate the finer details of your defense.

Most Popular Warlord Hero: #103 – Aralyn the Unbreakable

Posted by admin on August 3 2010 Add Comments

Aralyn the Unbreakable is a Warlord Hero, who gives a constant armor bonus to all the troops in your army. Although she is one of the more “low-powered” Warlord in NanoStar Siege, having her in your army will significantly increase the survivability of your soldiers. Like any Warlord, Aralyn’s bonus will be applied throughout the entire battle to all your soldiers and she is “in use” from the first second. Aralyn is best used when you field large numbers of badly-armored troops like Bowmen and Slayers or against defenses that rely heavily on arrows, catapults and other direct attack Heroes.

NanoStar: Diamond (uncommon)

Most Popular Legendary Attack/Defense Hero: #79 – Ogre King

Posted by admin on August 3 2010 Add Comments

In terms of sheer brutality, Ogre King can’t be beat. Of all the units in NanoStar Siege, the Ogre King is the most durable and can dish out the largest amount of damage. It also moves relatively fast, making it a true Living Tank. Using the Ogre King… is easy: just summon it and prepare for carnage! You’ll need to keep him protected though: Even the biggest of boys fall down eventually, so put a Healer behind him and keep him covered from mind control and poison with Heroes like Deflection, Technicality or Anti-Magic.

NanoStar: Savage (rare)
Category: Reinforcement, Monster
Power: Legendary

Most Popular Mighty Attack and Defense Hero: #62 – Heavy Cavalry

Posted by admin on August 3 2010 Add Comments

Heavy Cavalry, like the Hellhound, is a line attack Hero, so it can mow down unsuspecting rows of troops with great effect when use correctly. Heave Cavalry is the most powerful line attack Hero in NanoStar Siege and is very good both in attack and… defense play. Use the Heavy Cavalry to shatter tight formations of swordsmen or as a “windshield wiper” in front of your castle to clean off any units that are trying to breach the wall. However, be careful: the charging cavalrymen don’t care if they run over a friend or a foe!

NanoStar: Black Knight (uncommon)

Know Your Soldiers, part 4 – Knight

Posted by admin on August 3 2010 Add Comments

Knight is the first special unit available in NanoStar Siege: It can only be gained if a friendly king/queen decides to gift one for you. The Knight is a fast, well-armored killing machine who is immune to negative Hero effects (such as stat reduction and mind control). He takes the space of a standard 4-man unit.

Use the Knight as a “bowling ball” to bash through the enemy lines and to reach the castle quickly. The Knight can easily end up alone and surrounded by the enemy, so keep some Healing Potions and other booster Heroes around to increase his survivability.

Before each battle, you can choose to deploy one of the Knights you have received.
